Any one of you doing some traveling this holiday season (which is so many of us!) knows the struggle of trying to maintain a semi-stylish outfit whilst keeping the comfort factor in check.

I've been on the hunt for a great pair of vintage or vintage looking denim. Something made of a heavier denim, not too light (but not too dark either), and more of a straight leg than skinny. Until then, I am resorting to my favorite ripped jeans- sometimes you just have favorites.

We’ve all seen it; the super stylish girl who looks effortlessly pulled together wearing a monochrome color palette. And if you've tried it yourself, you know it isn’t always as easy as it seems. Sometimes, when you have the right wardrobe essentials to pull from or have a good idea of what pieces work well together, it can be a fun and easy process. Other times, it seems easier to throw up your hands in frustration and opt for your “uniform” or go-to outfit you know works. That can be great and all but sometimes you want to challenge your personal style and try new looks. Keep reading for some tips that can help you pull off that effortless monochromatic look this fall.

Although, I am currently crushing on an all white or off-white look for fall, I really tend to wear black, black, & more black during these cooler months. I tried to break up the monotony a bit by adding a little color with the blouse and a snake print shoe.

Fall transition- SoCal Style. Fall is officially here & I couldn't be happier! We are still lingering around in the upper 80's and 90's but there is hope for cooler temperatures yet!

 Inspired by some of my favorite street style looks from Paris Fashion Week- Fashion month really, but Paris happens to be my favorite of the four fashion weeks - today I decide to pair a vintage tweed jacket with heels, torn jeans, and of course- my trusty turtleneck.

I just love finding new pieces that fit into my already existing wardrobe with ease. That is kind of how these pants are- I have already worn them a handful of times and have only had them for a couple of weeks! When I get the urge to buy something in a silhouette or color I do not regularly wear I force myself to imagine several different possible outfits I can create with it.

Staying true to my vintage-loving roots, this jacket is a vintage piece I picked up about 6 years ago now. It is one of those pieces that has been a mainstay in my wardrobe each Winter season. Although in southern California we don't need to bundle up all too heavily, this keeps me just warm enough on those chilly nights we get from December-February.

NYFW Street Style Fall 2015

Almost as exciting as viewing all of the new collections from each season’s fashion week is checking out the unique choices of some of our favorite street style mavens. I’ve compiled some of the most lust-worthy street style looks that have popped up so far from NYFW.

For me there is something thrilling about finding a vintage piece of clothing and bringing new life to it. I light up whenever I walk into an antique, vintage, or thrift store. Something about the hunt I guess. I could sift through old things all day just to find the one item that speaks to me.

BACK TO BLACK

 What's to be said for the perfect leather jacket? Quite a lot it seems! 

I purchased this leather jacket just a couple of months back and have already worn it more times than I can count. It goes effortlessly with a t-shirt and jeans or can be thrown over a slinky dress or romper to give more of an edgy vibe.

These clothes match my mood perfectly today-no structure and kind of all over the place! It was one of those days that involved a little running around followed by quite a lot of lounging around.

This entire outfit is brought to you by the lovely Zéline, or should I just say with the exception of the turtleneck crop my outfit is made up of new & old Zara items. I purchased this coat before heading back East for the holidays and it has truly been my go-to in frigid cold and semi-cool weather alike. And the shoes to me are reminiscent of a pair of Aquazzura shoes I have been eyeing as of late- only I still want those shoes too!
