Buckle Up!

Love 'em or hate 'em, belts are back in a major way! We saw the belt trend exploding on the runways of New York Fashion week, London, Milan, and now Paris is following suit!

Come Spring we are all going to be putting belts over everything! Try throwing on a belt over a swingy floral dress or even a structured jacket for a more sophisticated look. This trend is a great way to update that item in your wardrobe you've worn one too many times- I think (hope) we all can relate!

I pulled some of my favorite looks from the Paris runway's thus far and they can all be seen above. My favorite of this bunch is the wide gold belt over the frilly white dress from Chanel. Which one is your favorite?

Looks:

3-4 Alexander McQueen
5-8 Chanel
9-11 Givenchy
12 Saint Laurent

Black, White, & Blue

Today is the first day of Fall and although that means chunky knits, turtlenecks, and boots for some we are still sweating it out here in Southern California. These jean shorts have been a staple item in my wardrobe for the past two seasons, and I honestly do not see them going anywhere anytime soon. The blazer was thrifted awhile back and I just recently started incorporating it into my outfits again. Today I chose to go sans anything underneath to help avoid melting completely.

Manolo VS. Choo

Manolo Blahnik Lara Suede lace-up pumps or Jimmy Choo Valour pumps? Can't decide between the two and it will be my first designer shoe purchase. Thoughts?!

Fall's Most Wanted:

3.1 Phillip Lim Lavender Shearling Jacket...the end.

Meanwhile in London town....

Coming out of London yesterday was a lot of talk of the pasties that Tom Ford sent down the runway for SS15. That was great and all, but what stuck with me was Christopher Kane's presentation. Kane used a lot of dark, somber hues that could almost be fitting for a Fall/Winter collection.

Spring, Summer, Fall…I don’t care what season it is, these looks are effortlessly cool.  The images above are some of my favorite looks that are sure to become next season’s lust-worthy pieces. Especially the leather track pants in the top image and that burgundy leather jacket in the second. It's not even technically Fall yet, but this collection has me yearning for Spring '15.

Endless Summer

Just when we thought it was time for chunky knits & oversized coats the temperature hits 90 degrees. In an attempt to beat the heat I paired a breezy silk dress with cut-out booties and a felt fedora. Dresses like this are a perfect transition to fall, next month it can be paired with tights, tall boots and a leather jacket.

Black, White, & Metallic | SS15 LFW Coverage

Black and White has been trending for a few seasons now and it does not appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. This is good news for me as I tend to gravitate towards anything black and white as it is.

A new twist to the sometimes somber ensemble of black and white can be added in metallics, pops of color and/or print. Alexander McQueen shows us how it is done in the first few photos by including the liquid silver skirt and metal grommets. Meanwhile, Whistles uses pattern by way of perforated fabric to add a  new element of surprise. Let these looks carry you from Fall to Spring by incorporating more white or more black into your outfit depending on the month.

Those McQueen shoes though...must start saving now!

Blue Dream...

Visited Zara this weekend for some black, white (& camel) items to add to my Fall wardrobe, however I ended up leaving with a baby blue faux fur. Confused but I think I like it.

Fashion Week Street Style SS15

A few of my favorite street style shots from Fashion week so far as shot by Tommy Ton [Images from Style.com]. Just a quick glimpse at the street style spotted during Fashion Week is enough inspiration to keep me going through an entire season!

As many of us know elevated sportswear is still going strong on the runways and with street style fashionistas alike. Hence, the crisp white shoes in the first image and the Calvin Klein "Eternity" Sweatshirt.

We cannot forget to discuss the "Culottes" or "Gouchos" trend that has been popping up everywhere. This article of clothing deserves its very own post [we will get to that later], however they look chic pair with flat slides and an oversized boxy top as shown in the last image. I am personally excited to pair these with a flatform sandal as I am rather on the short side.

Look out for more of my favorite street style shots this coming month from London, Milan, and Paris.

A bootie, a loafer, & a flatform....

This is all I need right here. A bootie, a loafer, and a flatform. My life is complete. Footwear has always been a way to set yourself apart from the crowd in a subtle yet stylish way, and this Fall is no exception.

The simplistic style of the booties at top will give your look a bit of an edge without screaming "look at me!". Pair with a swingy dress and a felt fedora for any of those too-hot summer days left, or opt to wear them with shredded jeans and a t-shirt for a laid back vibe.

The shearling loafers....where to begin? These are heaven. I am already dreaming up outfit after outfit. How about some leather culottes and a slinky oversized top?

And last but not least, the flatforms I have been lusting over ever since peeping them on the Fall '14 runway last spring. Then again, I spot them in the Stella McCartney store last week in Soho, they are stalking me. My go-to look with these beauties is a simple short dress with some thick socks, an oversized scarf and sunnies.

NYFW Top Pick | The Row

Out of all of the designers that had the opportunity to show their collection this past week at NYFW my favorite show emerged as The Row's SS15 collection. Simplistic. Clean. Comfortable. These are all of the characteristics I am gravitating towards in design as of late. The silhouettes appear to be almost cocoon like, ultimately still chic but comfortable.

On to London now!
