If you are following me on Instagram (@blameitonbarneys) chances are you may have already taken a peek at this look featuring two of my all time favorite vintage pieces; this amazing vintage jacket via my great Grandma or as well called her "gramsy" (which now I wonder how she wore this because she was seriously a tiny little thing), and my first vintage Chanel bag - you may have also seen this a time or two if you have been following me for awhile. 

Gray Days

Case of the Mondays? We have been having exceptionally gray days here in what is usually sunny San Diego. However today, things are looking up- I see the sun peeking through the clouds as I am typing. I was somewhat mimicking the weather in this outfit, shades of gray & moody blacks to start off the week.

5 Tips to Wear Your Summer Wardrobe This Winter

After taking these photos I am pretty sure I should be packing for a tropical vacation due to the level of tan I feel is needed, however I am not. Instead getting ready to head to Ohio where I am told it isn't quite that cold yet but nonetheless I don't see myself wearing a summer dress with a fuzzy sweater draped over it.

Uniform

I've been on the hunt for a great pair of vintage or vintage looking denim. Something made of a heavier denim, not too light (but not too dark either), and more of a straight leg than skinny. Until then, I am resorting to my favorite ripped jeans- sometimes you just have favorites. 

//WINTER FLORAL//

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! I am easing back into the week in a floral mini and fluffy jacket. Normally I stick to a pretty minimalistic color palette; black, white, tan, stripes, etc. I am working on breaking out of that monotonous routine by adding more print & color into my wardrobe. I will always be a sucker for black & white but I love having fun and experimenting with new looks!

I am loving November. Cooler temps mean the ability to layer up a bit which can be so much fun.

Staples. As in wardrobe staples, not the office supply store...As I refine my wardrobe I am trying to keep a closet full of classic pieces that I can mix and match.

Suede has been a huge trend the past few seasons and this fall it is stronger than ever. It plays into the 60's-70's trends as many pieces from that era are done in suede.

Fall transition- SoCal Style. Fall is officially here & I couldn't be happier! We are still lingering around in the upper 80's and 90's but there is hope for cooler temperatures yet!

 Trying to stay cool yesterday was a task but this little romper & iced coffee was a huge life saver. Nothing like some lightweight fabric and a little (or a lot!) of wind to keep you cool when the sun is melting you.

Signs of Fall are finally starting to show. At least in the wardrobe department. The weather- not so much. So hot today however I really can't complain because the ocean breeze tends to make everything a little bit better.

 Inspired by some of my favorite street style looks from Paris Fashion Week- Fashion month really, but Paris happens to be my favorite of the four fashion weeks - today I decide to pair a vintage tweed jacket with heels, torn jeans, and of course- my trusty turtleneck.

Do you ever have that one item sitting in your closet for months, and you just know you are going to wear it but just not sure when or how? Well, I have quite a few of those and more than one is a maxi skirt.

I just love finding new pieces that fit into my already existing wardrobe with ease. That is kind of how these pants are- I have already worn them a handful of times and have only had them for a couple of weeks! When I get the urge to buy something in a silhouette or color I do not regularly wear I force myself to imagine several different possible outfits I can create with it.

Staying true to my vintage-loving roots, this jacket is a vintage piece I picked up about 6 years ago now. It is one of those pieces that has been a mainstay in my wardrobe each Winter season. Although in southern California we don't need to bundle up all too heavily, this keeps me just warm enough on those chilly nights we get from December-February.

 What's to be said for the perfect leather jacket? Quite a lot it seems! 

I purchased this leather jacket just a couple of months back and have already worn it more times than I can count. It goes effortlessly with a t-shirt and jeans or can be thrown over a slinky dress or romper to give more of an edgy vibe.
