Citizen's Mark | Jeans, T-Shirt, & A Blazer

One of my go-to outfits when I want to feel comfortable, stylish, & put together includes a comfortable pair of jeans, a great T-shirt, and an amazing blazer to top it off. There is something about adding a structured element like a blazer to casual T-shirt & jeans outfit that makes you seem all the more put together.

Sparkles on a Friday

Who else is ready for the weekend?! My birthday is Sunday and Anthony's was on Tuesday so we are excited to have a fun-filled birthday weekend! This outfit is one of those things you throw on when you really don't know how your feeling or what the temperature is outside.

Gucci To Kick Off MFW

Milan Fashion Week started with a bang today. And when I say bang, I mean none other than Gucci. Unfortunately, I am not there seeing the show live (Instead I am getting ready to head into the office - glamorous, I know!) however, thanks to VogueRunway.com you can see the shows almost as soon as they happen.

Some thoughts that came to mind when viewing the photos from today's show were; "Big Bird", "Purple People Eater", and "Wow!" - all in a good way! Some of the pieces caught me by surprise with the amount of color, but then again it is Gucci and this is Italy we are talking about. I wouldn't expect an all black runway show. There are many full on monochromatic looks throughout the show, then there are the mixing of clashing prints, and of course the iconic Gucci stripe makes an appearance. Click through to check out some of my favorite looks!

Monday, Monday

This look was from over the weekend, and now that it is Monday I am reminiscing wishing it was still Saturday. Only 5 more days, right? Anyhow, I generally like to keep it comfortable no matter what I'm doing and a stretchy T-shirt dress, lace-up sandals, and a hat to hide messy hair is the perfect combo for me.

Alexander McQueen Fall 2016

Flowers. Butterflies. Stars. Moons. Unicorns. A sort of ethereal show took place today in London's Lawrence Hall. Sarah Burton, the designer & creative director behind McQueen since 2010, stayed true to the labels way of effortlessly combining opposing elements. A tulle skirt with a leather jacket, dainty lace under structured suit jackets, & butterflies embroidered onto leather are just a few examples.

Shop the Trend: Blush + Black

I was never a huge fan of the color pink, however blush is a different story. One of my favorite things at the moment is to pair a soft colored hue like blush with an edgy croc-embossed bootie or studded bag. Let your girly side meet your edgy side but pairing these two shades together this season.

Add a Little Spring to Your Step with Neutrals

Today I am feeling a little spring in my step. I am so excited to start wearing lighter colors. Although most of you know I am a huge fan of all black, I also adore neutrals. I think it is a great idea to buy bags and shoes in neutral colors because you can pair them with dark or light colors and they become excellent transitional pieces from season to season.

Lace, Frayed, & Vintage

I feel like my personal style is always evolving and I always like to try new things. I am usually one to try out a trend if I feel it fits into my personal style nicely, although I will say I used to be a lot more loud and flashy in the way I dressed. I guess I was more willing to try new things while I was still figuring out my personal style. Now, I have a better handle on what I like, what I don't like, what I  feel is flattering on me, and what is definitely not. Something I have found out since starting my blog is that sometimes you think something is flattering on you, then you see it in a picture...and yeah, not so much. Anyhow, point of the story is - I still like to try new things.

Friday's are for Beach Days

Fridays are for skipping work and spending them on the beach right? Ha, I wish! Last night after work the weather was so beautiful and I had the opportunity to romp around at the beach. Where I live we have an area called Sunset Cliffs and there are all these amazing little, almost private, beaches. This is where I like to go to clear my mind and just be reminded how much beauty really surrounds us.

Dusk til Dawn

There is a time of day I love the most. It isn't quite dusk but it's that time of day right before when the sun starts to set and everything is covered in a beautiful warm glow. Kind of like someone doused the world in a sepia filter for an hour or so. I used to say I wish the entire day could be like that hour, but then I guess it wouldn't be so special.

Designer Vault | Chanel Couture at Your Door

The first designer bag I ever bought was coincidentally (or maybe not so coincidentally) a Chanel bag; a vintage Chanel bag to be exact. A glorious taupe colored vintage Chanel bag. Heaven in a handbag. Any fashionista gal will tell you, the epitome of all designer bags is a Chanel bag. I had swooned over the Boy Bag season after season but with the hefty price tag it just wasn’t doable for me at the time. Along came Designer Vault, the online source for timeless Chanel consignment bags, accessories & jewelry, to answer my prayers of one day being able to own Chanel.

On the Lookout

We had such gorgeous weather this past weekend, it seriously couldn't have been anymore beautiful. Super Bowl weekend was yesterday and due to the fact I don't watch football I was able to enjoy this gorgeous weather and get some relaxation time in.

Valentine's Day Gift Guide

It's almost that time of year again. You know what I'm talking about...that time of year where you are viewing the world through rose colored lenses and seeing images of Gucci florals dancing through your head. New York Fashion Week, right?! Well, that and Valentine's day.

I hand picked some of my ultimate favorite items that I would personally love to receive for Valentine's Day. I am all about buying yourself a little something-something year-round but what better excuse than you just really really love yourself? Works for me! If you don't want to buy it for yourself ladies, take the guess work out of it for your special someone and shoot this list or product link on over to them to ensure you get those rose-colored Miu Miu sunnies you have been dying over.

Happy Wednesday everyone! We are half way there! Yay!! Today I wanted to do an Instagram round-up to give you guys a little more insight into some of my most recent posts along with information on where to shop, etc.

Black Frames are these gallery frames I purchased awhile back & talked about in a recent post. I cut out images from some of my favorite fashion magazines and an Alexander McQueen book that I had 2 of! Also, the lace bra is from Adore Me. So in love with this thing! It is seriously great quality and perfect for layering under tops where you can see it peeking out the top.

Nomad Donuts in North Park, San Diego. Oh. My. God. Seriously. If you guys live in the area or ever visit this is a must. I have the one in the back left corner. I think it is called “ube taro coconut”. Not sure what ube or taro are but it was seriously delicious. My intentions were to take 1 bite and save the rest for later. Nope. At the whole thing in like 2 seconds. Sunnies are the ones I feature a lot from YSL.

Rings & things. If you guys didn’t know I receive RocksBox every month which is a jewelry subscription box. The ring on my pointer finger came in this month's box (it is Gorjana) and I am obsessed! You can sign up for a free month using code “laurenjainexoxo”. The other stack-able dainty rings are from my friend & amazing designer Tatum of Love Tatum. These rings are so fun because you can wear just one, or stack ‘em up  and wear a few.

Coffee & roses. This is the cutest little coffee shop in my town and they just so happen to have a flower shop inside of the coffee shop. Doesn’t get much better than that. It is called The Coffee Method and is seriously a block from the beach in OB San Diego.

I have been wearing these booties non-stop lately. You know when you buy something and you aren’t sure if you should keep it or not? I kind of felt like that about these at first. Well, I am glad I kept them. They are actually rather comfortable and dress up any outfit. They are sold out from Zara but you can shop similar ones here, here, & here. Also, the pants I am wearing here are kind of like my 2nd skin. I wear these 24/7, I am thinking about getting another similar pair just to switch it up a bit. These are Blank NYC, under $100 and totally worth it!  And of course, my Love Tatum ring. You can tell I wear a lot of her stuff! This one is an amazing sliced geode and one of my all time favorites - looks like she has a few more geode rings here.

Lingerie Shop

This posted started off as the traditional Valentine's Day gift guide but then slowly morphed into me lusting over different lingerie pieces. I guess the gift guide will have to come later this week. And I thought to myself that maybe Valentine's Day should be more about treating ourselves and indulging on something that makes us feel super sexy (or just good in general - definitely doesn't have to be lingerie). Whether you have someone in your life who you want to dress up for or you just want to buy it for yourself, I am a huge fan of purchasing intimates that just make you feel confident and sexy.

Needless to say, I am currently obsessing over all of these pieces! I normally don't go for red lingerie but how adorable are those first two items? I love the delicate lace details with the ultra feminine bows to finish it off. Yes, a little pricey but they are just so beautiful, definitely a splurge item. Also, the black and white bustiers from Nasty Gal...omg! I can see this transitioning to a girl's night out outfit by pairing it with some high-waisted bottoms and maybe a chic blazer thrown over top. Or even layer a chunky knit over it during these cooler winter months and just know you have something uber sexy underneath.

P.S. One lace set I have been rocking lately is this one from Adore Me. Style name "Daphne"

Pop of White

Monday has me layering up in black, gray, & blue with pops of white accessories. I have always said white is my favorite color, and people have always corrected me to say "white is NOT a color!". Well, in my world it is. What are they going to say next? Black isn't a color? Sheesh!
