Accessorizing for Fall

It’s that time of year when we start slowly easing into fall. Pumpkin spice everything (+ everywhere!), cute bomber jackets, suede boots, and cooler weather! I am having fun creating new ways to style my 25 week baby bump, but I am not going to lie – sometimes it is really challenging! I am used to throwing on my ripped skinny jeans and a huge chunky knit for fall. Somehow I just don’t see myself squeezing into those same skinny jeans this year ;) Although I am seriously DYING to get my little paws on this pair by Lovers + Friends. I am considering buying them to have for post baby – they can be like my motivation to get my pre-pregnancy body back asap. Good idea, right?!

Because fitting into all of my normal clothes isn’t something that is going to happen right now, I love dressing up simple outfits with fun accessories. My dress is non-maternity and under $60, such a great deal – it also comes in a deep burgundy color, perfect for fall! Also, as you can see my choker obsession is still going strong! I have been obsessing over this one in my post – anything with onyx and gold and I am game!

Oh, and I can't forget - one of my favorite ways to accessorize now that I am pregnant is with an ORGANIC Spray Tan! Yes, I said ORGANIC. I am super careful about what I put on my body now that I am pregnant and love that I can get a glow and keep it organic at the same time. For my local babes – Blush Tan in La Jolla offers this service and I have seriously been obsessed. It is the perfect way to make me feel just a little bit better on those days I am feeling especially pasty (if ya know what I mean?!). Check ‘em out and give them code ‘BLAMEITONBARNEYS20’ to get 20% off your spray tan – you won’t regret it!

Hope you are all getting through the week okay, only 2 more days till the weekend!

A Saturday Well Spent

I woke up today feeling motivated which is why I love the weekends. It gives me time to wind down from a busy work week and focus on things in my life that I really love spending time on. I spent time this morning baking muffins - omg so domesticated. But I am LITERALLY obsessed with these dark chocolate cherry muffins! Cherries are out of season so today I switched it up - fingers crossed they turn out good.

My new thing lately while doing tasks such as baking, driving, getting ready, etc. is to listen to podcasts. I have become addicted! I have to have a good podcast if I am going to be in the car for more than 30 minutes. It is a great way to gain knowledge while otherwise doing something you do on a daily basis. Today I listened to the most recent episode of Girlboss Radio with Sophia Amoruso from Nasty Gal. Each week she interviews a badass girl in business and it never fails to motivate me!

Anyhow, hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I wanted to share this post with you before too long. I bought this double-buckle belt recently and love that I can wear it over top of my bump now and at my true waist in the future. I got a size small and it fits great - for now ;)

Flowy

Loving flowy tops lately! Ha, I seriously always have but now even more that I am pregnant. Somedays I love showing off the bump in a snug fitting dress or top and other days I love the look of a flowy top or dress. This top is perfect for me because it is non-maternity so I will be able to wear it during my pregnancy as well as after!

Today marks 23 weeks pregnant! I can't believe it - I am more than halfway there! It is so surreal to think we will have a new family member in less than 4 months! I am starting to plan and decorate his nursery which has been so exciting! Just so many things to do still! Hope you all have a lovely week!

xx

Maternity Style Roundup

Any woman who has been pregnant before knows the struggle of finding clothes that still fit your body, are affordable, and most of all - are comfortable. As your belly starts to grow the LAST thing you want is to feel constricted in any way or to be wearing an itchy top in the heat of the summer. Or, worse - to be stuffed into your old clothes trying to make it work but really unable to breathe. I have always been on the smaller side so a lot of people scoff at me when I talk about gaining weight during pregnancy. But the truth is, it doesn't matter what size you are - your body is changing, and therefore you have to find clothes to make you feel comfortable AND confident.

Now that I am halfway through - 20 weeks TODAY - I have rounded up some of my favorite maternity (and items that aren't maternity but work) items so you don't have to sacrifice style during this special time.

These leggings by Ingrid & Isabel are my go-to, been-living-in-everyday, super comfortable, will last the entire pregnancy favorite leggings. I love the zipper detail at the ankle and they are NOT see through on the bum and feel super high quality. These ones from Old Navy look super comfy too!

I bought this slip dress in white when I was 12 weeks pregnant and it is on sale now for $25.99! They also have the maternity version of the same dress (on sale too!) here and more colors of the same maternity version here.

This striped t-shirt is perfect for the days you want to feel comfortable - I actually wear this out & to sleep in because it is that comfy!

I am somewhat obsessed with denim - denim shirts, dresses, you name it! One of the first maternity items I bought was this denim Maternity dress by Topshop and it is now on sale for $37.50!

A SPLURGE item I purchased were these AG Maternity Skinny Leg Jeans. I actually went a size down (normally a 26 but took a 25 in these). They fit like a dream and I know I will wear them through my entire pregnancy.

This tank dress from Old Navy is perfect for these hot summer months AND on sale for $22.99 right now!

I got this Rails Flannel as a part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and it is super comfy and roomy - enough to allow for my growing belly! I got it in a size SM.

I got this shirred tank yesterday from Old Navy for $5.99 - such a steal and perfect for layering!

This off-the-shoulder dress from Azalea SF is perfect to wear as a shirt with a belt over top of it. I wore this out the other night and felt comfortable and chic!

To smooth and lift under fitted dresses I got these secret fit shapers - basically Spanx but way more comfortable - as in you can actually still breathe.

These black skinnies make me feel like I am getting dressed pre-pregnancy. They are super skinny through the leg and are super versatile.

This dress is ADORABLE and would be perfect for my trip to London next week - I am thinking I could pair it with cute sneakers or sandals.

I am also dying for this polka-dot maternity dress that is on sale right now! Perfect for the office or lunches with my girls.

I purchased a version of these leather-looking jeans by Citizen's of Humanity and always feel super edgy and a little more chic when I wear them!

Dying to splurge on these distressed denim jeans which support Christy Burlington Burns and her charity, Every Mother Counts - a non-profit charity dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother.
