An unusual pairing of pastel-blue faux fur, nike, & my trusty white Birkenstocks. Although this pairing is quite unusual the combination of these favorite pieces seemed right. I like having fun while getting dressed, and I especially like when that includes being comfortable. You can't really beat the comfort of a Nike workout tank and Birkenstocks.

B L U S H I N G
Usually when I think fall style I think of dark greens, maroons, black...lots of black. However, today I had a change of heart. Mostly because I wanted to get some more wear out of these Valentino flats before I start rocking knee high boots for the next few months.
Anyhow, I used to have a love affair with silk scarves and I have had them tucked neatly away for the past few seasons. I decided to un-tuck them this year and start incorporating them into my outfits again. I prefer to wear mine more like a bandana but you could try tying it in a knot or draping it over your shoulders for a totally different look!

P L E A T E D & C R O P P E D
Fall in Southern California calls for pleated minis, crop-tops, and wool blazers.
It was WAY too hot today to be mid-October! Although, I know I shouldn't complain because people travel across the globe year-round to experience our beautiful weather. Today I decided to pair one of my favorite (and thrifted I might add!) wool blazers with this pleated little faux leather skirt I picked up at TopShop in Soho back in September. I have been feeling silver jewelry lately but I felt this hunter green and black combo called for some gold accessories.
xo,
patiently waiting for some cooler weather

Blending In
Stripes. Leather. Black Booties. Round Sunnies. All of my favorite things mixed into one simple outfit. We are still experiencing the heat wave of heat waves here in Southern California, and as much as I want to wrap myself up in chunky sweaters I am managing by incorporating thicker fabrics such as this leather skirt by Reformation. I purchased this at their Soho store last month, knowing it would quickly become a staple. Although it is cream, I still find it to have a very "Fall" vibe to it. I am excited to pair it with an oversized turtleneck and knee-high boots once the temperature starts to drop- fingers crossed for that to actually happen!

Buckle Up!
Love 'em or hate 'em, belts are back in a major way! We saw the belt trend exploding on the runways of New York Fashion week, London, Milan, and now Paris is following suit!
Come Spring we are all going to be putting belts over everything! Try throwing on a belt over a swingy floral dress or even a structured jacket for a more sophisticated look. This trend is a great way to update that item in your wardrobe you've worn one too many times- I think (hope) we all can relate!

I pulled some of my favorite looks from the Paris runway's thus far and they can all be seen above. My favorite of this bunch is the wide gold belt over the frilly white dress from Chanel. Which one is your favorite?
