Insta Me

Every now and again I like to do an Insta round-up to further explain some of my favorite photos floating around on my IG (@blameitonbarneys if you want to see more!). Click through to delve a little deeper...
We will start with the shot of NYC above. One of my favorite photos of all time. This photo captures so much to me. It was taken from the 23rd floor of the Mondrian Hotel in Soho in May 2014 - now I think it may be the NOMO Soho. It is on Crosby Street in Soho NYC and this is one of my favorite streets in Soho. The cobblestone and New York- ish facades just get me. I seriously fell in love with that hotel and the views you get from the rooms. When we arrived they upgraded us to a higher floor so we would have an even better view. It didn't disappoint! The shower had a HUGE window which was amazing to just shower and be able to look out over the city at the same time. Looking at this photo just gives me that feeling. The feeling that I need to be there right now, something is happening. Right? Isn't that what NYC does to people?

This photo with the ranunculus flowers and my trusty PS 11 was taken on my lunch break yesterday - ha! Yes, I sometimes make runs to the flower shop on my lunch break. It just seems more satisfying than sitting in the office and staring into my screen a bit longer. I went for ranunculus because it isn't quite peony season yet I guess. Tear. Anyhow, when I got home I noticed all these little green bugs on the flowers. And if you know me, you know I am a bug-a-phopic (if that is a word). So, now they are sitting in a vase next to sink brightening up the kitchen.

My mom recently sent me a link to this site, Society6, which makes products or prints from different artists around the world. You could get a pillow with an awesome print, or a phone case for example. I went for art in the traditional sense, something to hang on the wall. When I first browsed this site I seriously spent like an hour and a half filling up my cart with everything I wanted. Then...like always, I have to narrow it down. And I did! I got this amazing print above and totally adore it. I see her as a sort of warrior woman who is strong, noble, & stoic. The artist is Ruben Ireland, all of his work is pretty sick but this one spoke to me the most!

A latte a day. Duh. I mean I wish I could drink lattes everyday but 1) it wouldn't be good for my wallet and 2) it probably isn't too good for the waistline either. However, I do get my latte fix in at least once a week to keep me smiling. This is from Coffee & Tea Collective which is downtown San Diego in our East Village. A super cute trendy little area. The coffee is pretty amazing so if you haven't been I definitely recommend it. They also have a bomb avo toast!
